Parts:

  • Riptide Battery
  • Riptide Battery Box and Lid
  • Riptide Battery Wire Grommet
  • Riptide Deck, Front Truck, Rear Truck

Tools:

  • 3mm Allen T-Handle
  • Utility Knife
  • #2 Phillips Screwdriver

Process

If your lid is on your battery box, use a #2 Phillips Screwdriver to remove the six screws. Put the screws and the lid to the side. You should now be able to look into the battery box and see the speed controller.

Take your battery and place it into the battery box with the power wire pointing towards the speed controller. You should be able to see the label on the battery. If you cannot see the label on the battery, flip it over.

Place the rubber grommet into the battery box wall cutout with the slit side facing up. Direct the battery power and charger wires through the grommet.

Connect the motor power wires to the controller using the yellow connector. When connected, tuck this connected down between the controller and partition wall.

Reconnect the red charge port connection. Notice where the notch is in the male and female sides of this connector. Make sure to interface them correctly.

Once connected, push the charge port connector down between the controller and side wall. Be careful not to pinch, tear, or stress the wires where they attach to the charge port. These wires can be fragile.

IMPORTANT: Take the wiring harness from the motors. Cross them. We will uncross them when we flip over the battery box during the final steps of install.

Make sure to push the battery box to the edge of the deck foam closest to the motors to ensure you are not pulling and putting stress on the motor wires.

Plug one of the motor's wiring harnesses into the wires coming off of the speed controller in this order.

Plug the motor wires into the speed controller.

Make sure all connections are correct and firm.

Now complete the connections for the other motor.

Make sure that you are not crossing the bundles of wires coming out from underneath the speed controller.

Place the rubber grommets into their slots. Make sure to pull the battery box towards the motors so not to stress the motor wires.

Re-secure the zip ties around the wiring bundles.

Carefully use the box cutter to cut the zip tie. Do not sever the motor wires.

Once both grommets are in place, use a Phillips #2 Screwdriver and six lid screws to secure the lid to the battery box.

Notice that the countersinks are only on one side. This side should be facing up.

Flip the battery box over.

Grab the riser box. Grab the battery box and deck and flip the two, places them on the riser box.

Use the six battery screws to secure the battery box to the deck. Use a drop of loc-tite on each screws' threads.
